AZAMAKUNA
This collection of prints was created by Las Traviesas during a workshop led by Juliana Gutiérrez as part of the artistic residency in Santuario. The sessions became a key to the participants’ subconscious imagery — a space where ancestral memories, dreams, and everyday experiences intertwined. Through drawing, storytelling, and collective exercises of imagination, the group explored visual traces of inner worlds and communal narratives.
Working with the monotype technique became an act of intuitive revelation: each image appeared as a unique imprint, a dialogue between the visible and the unseen. From these prints emerged symbolic connections between myth, emotion, and lived experience — narratives that later informed the scripts of the film Awera and the installation Traviesas.
The workshop became both a creative and relational tool, opening channels of communication between the artistic team and the community.
