TRAVIESAS

In the coffee-growing hills of the Colombian Andes, Las Traviesas, a community of Emberá trans women, weave between coffee plantations, otherworldly realms, and Emberá cosmovision. Guided by JEFÃ, a water boa who moves between cosmological realms, they caen del tiempo—fall out of time—and encounter Aribada, a half-human, half-jaguar being who has escaped its creator. Through dreams, memories, and rituals, they embark on a dance of resistance and emancipation in which myth and reality begin to dissolve. Aribada shares knowledge and offerings with them, and together they begin to hacer destino—to make destiny.
