RIOS

Invited by Christian Schröder to contribute to the ephemeral record label Love’s Labour’s Lost / Archivo Paradójico, Escobar created a sound piece reflecting on loss and impermanence. For this ongoing project, each contribution is pressed onto a single vinyl record and presented on a prepared turntable. During the performance, the record is gradually covered in paint, allowing the audience to witness its slow destruction — each track existing only in the moment it is heard.

In response to a profound personal loss, Escobar revisited fragments of sound and memory — phone messages, music, and videos from the final moments shared with a close friend. These intimate traces were reassembled into an audio collage that became a gesture of catharsis through sound, a symbolic act of burial.
